The Pixel Skin Resurfacing procedure is done using the Harmony Laser to resurface your skin. This procedure boost collagen levels, reduces appearance of scarring and wrinkles.
Before treatment, it is recommended to avoid excess exposure to the sun, such as tanning. You will also need to stop all photosensitive medications (retinoids, alpha hydroxyl, glycolic acid) 1 week prior to your appointment.
Yes, Pixel Perfect can be performed on all skin types; however, it is a good idea to consult with your physician, as some skin conditions can interfere with proper treatment.
Pixel skin rejuvenation treatments usually take less than 30 minutes, but could be longer if your condition is more advanced. Your exact treatment regimen will depend on your individual condition.
Pixel Perfect treatments are safe and effective, without injections or surgery. You can expect your skin to be flushed and red after the treatment, but this is completely normal and short-lived. As long as you carefully follow your post-treatment instructions, this will be the limit of the difficulties you might experience.
How much the procedure hurts varies from person to person. In general, the procedure can feel similar to a sunburn. A topical anesthetic is used post procedure to decrease sensation of sunburn. The sunburn sensation is likely to continue after the treatment. These symptoms are a normal part of the healing process and should improve quickly.
While Pixel Perfect reverses the appearance of aging, we can't stop the aging process. Depending on your starting point and your lifestyle following treatment, your new look can last several months or longer.
For most patients, a touch-up treatment after 6–12 months (usually using a different light-based skin rejuvenation technology) helps maintain a healthy glow.

Pixel Erbium Yag Laser is an FDA approved laser that uses “fractional ablative skin resurfacing” as opposed to complete ablative skin resurfacing. Improvement in the skin occurs in a two fold process as the laser removes damaged tissue at the surface of the skin and also generates heat below within the dermis to stimulate collagen. When the laser fires onto the skin a tiny dotted matrix pattern appears. Everywhere a dot appears is where tissue has been removed. The tissue surrounding each dot is healthy tissue left behind. This allows for rapid healing time (7 day period) and allows for minimal downtime. The client experiences warmth during the treatment and a “sunburn” like effect for 24 hours. Topical anesthesia is not generally necessary, but if a client elects to have amore aggressive Pixel, a topical anesthetic is applied before leaving the office. As new epidermal skin replaces the old, the repair process gives the client a bronze appearance over the next several days. The texture of the old skin will become slightly rough before flaking off on day 3 to 5. Healing is complete within 7 days. The Pixel is a remarkable treatment designed to:
Pixel is most effective in a series of 3 – 5 treatments with the quality of the skin continuing to improve several months beyond the last treatment. Best of all, Pixel can be used to improve the quality of the skin on other body parts such as the hands, neck, chest, arms, legs, etc. The treatment is usually completed in approximately 30 – 40 minutes on a face and clients can return to their normal activities, but must avoid unprotected sun exposure.
Anyone whose skin shows signs of aging is a candidate for Pixel Perfect. The most dramatic results are seen on people who have tried non-invasive therapies and are looking for something more aggressive. The best candidates have moderate sun damage, are in good health, have good health habits and typically take good care of their skin.
Pre Treatment:
Do not tan the areas to be treated for 4 weeks prior to treatment.
All lotions and potions you are using must be discussed and cleared in your consultation prior to treatments. In addition, all medications must be disclosed and discussed.
Pigmented lesions will not be treated.
A topical anesthetic may be used if you are especially sensitive to the treatment.
Treatment area should be free of perfume, makeup, and lotions.
Post treatment (for more detailed instructions review your post treatment instructions or you can call the office for a copy):
Days 1-3 or while the skin is still sensitive to the touch- your skin will be red similar to a sunburn, and may appear blotchy as some areas may have been treated more aggressively than others and could be swollen or puffy. Wash with cool water only as needed, apply as much organic almond oil or organic aloe vera as you like to sooth the skin, do not use a moisturizer as it will prevent the skin from flaking and peeling for best results. Apply sunscreen regularly and avoid as much sunlight as possible.
Days 3-7 or once the sensitivity has subsided and skin is flaky: Any redness and blotchy areas will be subsiding and your skin may appear more taut and shiny than usual. You are still healing, so do not stop applying sunscreen and avoiding sunlight to allow the skin to heal properly. You may wash your skin in the morning and at night using cool water and a gentle cleanser such as Vivite Replenish Hydrating Cleanser.
Days 7-10: You may resume using Vivite products or products containing Glycolic Acid or bleaching cream. You may also resume using a light exfoliator, such as Vivite Exfoliating Cleanser to remove any "flaky" skin. Once the skin is done flaking you may resume your regular skin care routine. For optimum results, schedule a Diamond Microdermabrasion 2 weeks post treatment.
